Terms of Business

Budget ceiling

Once the scope of work is determined, approved budgets are capped and not exceeded except in circumstances agreed explicitly by the client. Jackson Wells accepts responsibility for and absorbs cost over-runs.

Budget under-runs

Irrespective of the budget cap, clients are charged only for actual hours worked - gaining the benefit of us coming in under budget.

Fixed rate for overheads

Our photocopier is not a profit centre. Out-of-pocket expenses are charged at a fixed rate of 5% of total monthly fees. We absorb all expenses up to $50, including printing costs.

Project emphasis

We are project not retainer based. You pay for work done, not for having us on a leash. Budgets are established for each project or with monthly, quarterly or annual ceilings. Some clients prefer us to work at an hourly rate as they require our services, and this is also acceptable to us.

Retroactive payment

Invoices are issued retroactively each month: only in exceptional circumstances are up-front payments required.

Payment window

Payments are due fifteen working days days from the date of each invoice.

Supplier management

JWM can organise all subcontracted work required for projects such as design, printing and equipment hire. This is subject to a standard 10% commission to cover our administration costs.

Expenses

Expenses of more than $500 are submitted in advanceĀ for client approval. Expenses such as accommodation and airfares are charged to the client at cost.

Tax responsibility

All invoiced costs are subject to a 10% goods and services tax imposed by the Australian Government.
