Before joining Jackson Wells, Barry worked for more than 7 years as the General Manager of Community Broadcasting Association where he worked collaboratively with staff and the Board to develop and deliver a strong strategic vision which promotes active community engagement and strong communities through local, diverse, and accessible broadcasting.
He was instrumental within the CBAA in leading the sector towards a digital media future by embracing the opportunities made available through new content aggregation, collaboration, and distribution mechanisms.
For 23 years Barry has been involved in policy analysis and formulation, advising consumers and broadcasters on regulatory compliance and managing industry research. His previous experience includes associate lecturer in communications at the University of Technology, Sydney, a consumer advocate (Information Technology and Communications) at Choice, a policy analyst at the Communications Law Centre and have served as a Director of both the Telephone Information Services Standards Council (TISSC) and the Consumers' Telecommunications Network (CTN).
