Company history
In early 1991, unbeknownst to each other, Keith Jackson and John Wells quit senior jobs with two large Sydney PR companies to set up separate one-person operations. Some months later client Judi Stack invited the two to join forces and consult to her telecommunications company.
Over the next few months, with Jackson and Wells collaborating on an increasing number of projects, they began to see signs of a more expansive association. The result was Jackson Wells Communications, which opened its doors in May 1992.
The new company started with 13 clients and was launched by John Howard MP, later Australian Prime Minister. By 1994, it had passed a million dollars in annual billings. In 1998 the firm moved to its own offices at Neutral Bay - five minutes from the CBD and located opposite Sydney's famous Oaks Hotel. In the same year the company exceeded two million dollars in billings for the first time.
After the accession of a new shareholder the company was relaunched as Jackson Wells Morris in April 2000. John Howard, by now Prime Minister, once again did the honours at a ceremony at Old Parliament House in Canberra.
In 2008, the
company was rebranded - back to Jackson Wells - just as we were known in the
beginning.
